FSPCA – Intentional Adulteration Conducting Vulnerability Assessments

Course Description

Become your team’s food defense qualified individual by completing this one day vulnerability assessment training.

This official FSPCA course arms you with the knowledge to conduct a vulnerability assessment under the Mitigation Strategies to Protect Food Against Intentional Adulteration regulation (IA Rule) of the FDA. The IA Rule is aimed at preventing intentional adulteration from acts intended to cause wide-scale harm to public health, including acts of terrorism targeting the food supply.

Food Defense Qualified Individual Training

The IA Rule requires that certain activities be completed by a “food defense qualified individual,” who has successfully completed training in conducting a vulnerability assessment. Successful completion of this course is recognized by FDA as meeting the requirements for a “food defense qualified individual” responsible for conducting a vulnerability assessment.
